Playing, Whining and Thanking!

Well, first of all, you will notice I've changed my blog format. I just felt as if it needed a little freshening up for Spring. It's still a work in progress; I may fiddle with it some more.

As for the whining part, what is it with this weather? It is gray, depressing and really windy out today. It's April. Why isn't it springlike yet? I want to be out in the garden, cleaning up old leaves and other leftover debris from last year. But it's just not nice enough out. The trees and bushes are showing a few tentative buds and there are some crocuses poking up their heads in the yard but it just isn't warm enough yet for anything really impressive to bloom.

I feel as if I've been stuck in the house for months. Oh yeah, that's right - I have been stuck in the house for months.

I love the warm weather, love being able to be outside on the deck or in the garden. It isn't fair that we have winter 6 months a year here in New Jersey. Sure, you can get a nice day once in awhile as late as November or as early as March, but really, you can't enjoy the outdoors here until May, and can't really go outside after October. So why do I live here? A question for the ages.

Moving on...I am trying to catch up with all of the things I've been missing due to my recent addiction to Facebook and Scrabble. I realize that I have neglected to thank two people for awards! One is Utah Savage, and the other, Liberality. These fine bloggers have seen fit to bestow the Sisterhood Award on me so I am finally, belatedly, thanking them both! Rather than re-spread this award to people who have already gotten it anyway, I just want you to read all the bloggers I enjoy. There are so many wonderful female bloggers I read, please go visit all of the links on my sidebar that are written by women! And for that matter, there are a lot of great guys over there too. Go, read, enjoy!

Thank you for the linky love. As you know I quit facebook. Just not enough time in a day to play on the computer all day long--I've got other stuff to do. However, I have invited you to try Blip right? It's like twitter but it's songs and I love, love, LOVE it. Do check it out.

Stuck in the house for 6 gray cold months? Yep, that would be me too. Every day is like living in Tupperware.

Love the new format. I think we all are ready for Spring and Summer. I thrive in warmth...I so need to get away.

New blog looks great.

I think we should all do this every so often just to keep things fresh and contemporary.

The weather is so horrible here that I can't even believe it. April 4th and it's raining a mixture of water, snow and ice.

Oh well, bring it on because this is our last winter/spring living in the NE. In September we will be back in sunny southern California never to see a snowflake, an ice storm, or a 6 month winter again.

Yup...sounds like ya got a bad case of Spring Fever! Praying the weather turns nice so you can get out and play in Nature!

I'm taking a LONG blog break--it's one way to take a spring break! :-) I'll probably return in June sometime. It's feeling so good not having the obligation...I don't even care if my page rank goes down or if I have readers. LOL!

Nice new look.
You know, I heard that some places had winter--here in central PA it skipped us. Oh, we had the cold weather alright, but no snow. We had less than half the average amount of snow fall this year. So now we are down 5 + inches in rainfall.
As for Facebook, don't tell me you have also succumbed. I signed up--have a profile and all, but I return to blogging, my first love. I don't get sucked into games etc. Just an occasional read.
Hope things are looking up for you with spring.

The new palette is very light and pleasing.

And yes, what is it with this weather. I'm so ready for spring.

Maui, your blog always looks great!

It's 22 degrees and snowing here. And it's not melting. The forecast is for 2 to 6 inches tonight and tomorrow. Big sigh.
