Winter seems endless
I'm so tired of winter coats
And sloppy weather.
More snow is coming
The weather forecast is dire
I'm so sick of this!
Naked black branches
Against leaden winter skies
So very dreary...
Winter is boring
The dog has cabin fever
The cat doesn't care.
But there are some signs
That spring will be returning;
I hear birds singing.
And on the TV
I hear pitchers and catchers
Have come back to train.
I know it will pass,
This long winter from Hades
But please, tell me when!

I love these. They speak to my inner Midwesterner.
Thanks Lisa! I was so tired of winter it brought out my haiku persona!
Very nice. My favorite:
Winter is boring
The dog has cabin fever
The cat doesn't care.
That sums it up nicely here in Maine
Thanks, Mr. Macrum! I'm sure Maine is even more cabin-feverish by now since your winters are longer than ours.
I sometimes channel the dark haired gay guy from SEX and the City...in a word:
NAILED IT!
Thanks Maui! it was grand.Expresses my anxst just perfectly.
Well, here on the West Coast, it's been warm--- but our quandary is to try to find enough of a dry spell to mow the damned lawn.
Lawn mowing just seems so very wrong in the Pacific NW in frigging February.
Although daffodils are blooming here, we have some nighttime freezing temps....
We've not had enough snow pack for water levels.... so it could be a bad fire season.
My point-- As Roseanne Rosanna Danna said:
It's always something!
What Fran said. Too bad you can't send some of that snow and cold weather to the Pacific Northwest.
I like winter, and it's just not right to have temperatures in the 50s in February.
I hear ya.
We've been here three, long years and it was with the knowledge it would come to an end and we would return to California.
I honestly don't understand how people can stand it here their entire life. I would join the long parade of people relocating out of the NE to the south and west to get far away from winter.
We will be gone within 90 days, never to see snow again.
I enjoy winter
except for those loud snowplows.
Buy a shovel, jerk.
Boy do I agree with these sentiments. And then all this stuff with your Mom--what a winter you've had. I sympathize completely--been there done that!
Thanks for checking in on Doc of Ages. I took a break from blogging, then started an entirely new adventure in same. Come visit!

LOL about the cat not caring.
Please pardon the schaddenfreude, but I'm glad to hear things are as crummy in Jersey as they are in Michigan. LOL
They are indeed...it is hard to imagine that spring is less than 3 weeks away!
