Changes to the Sidebar

One thing I may have mentioned before is I am a big procrastinator. I can always find something else to do instead of what I'm supposed to be doing. So today when I started thinking about what I should post about and found I was not inspired enough to really go into anything serious, I started getting distracted and thinking about my sidebar.

So, instead of posting, I went ahead and rearranged some things. I moved TCR (Little Bang Theory) back into the fold where all the rest of my political blogfriends are residing; I moved the blogs that were compilations of other blogs or written by more than one person into a new category of their own (Political Blogs with Multiple Authors) and added some more, such as American Street, Crooks and Liars, Firedog Lake, Daily Kos, Huffington Post, etc. And, I added Comrade Kevin, Mock, Paper, Scissors, Monkey Muck and Dr. Zaius to the "Politically Oriented" personal blog list. I am not going to bother linking all of these in the post since you can see them on the sidebar.

Sadly, I took out Women on the Verge from the list because they haven't posted in so long. If anyone finds out they are back, please let me know and I'll put the link back in!

End of procrastination.

*UPDATE*

Have also added Jen's Little Country Lost to the list. Enjoy!

What a great list -- I've found some of my favorite sites (including yours) by following links on other people's blogs. And I always enjoy discovering a new "gem."

(and btw, thank you for including Nailing Jello to the Wall !)

Looks good.

The blogroll thing is so peculiar to me. People just stop adding new content to their blog or even stranger -- delete it without any warning to the readers.

Liberally Mirth did that. One day, without warning she just deleted it and Liberally Mirth was gone. Like it never existed.

Nowadays, I have a policy that if someone hasn't updated their blog in 90 days, I delete it. It isn't fair to my readers to have dead blogs on my blogroll.

Sue, me too - I love when I have enough time to just mosey along through other people's link lists. I also find some through following someone's comment in another blog back to their profile and looking at their blog that way! It begins to really be a community then!

Christopher, you're right - I hate when someone just deletes their blog! And there's no way to contact them and find out what happened!

I'm still holding out hope that Evil Spock will be back. I've been in touch with him and he says he's taking a break but may come back to it. I hope he does!

Sorry, wrong link for Evil Spock. Here's the right one:

The Needs of the Few (Evil Spock's blog).

now if i could only figure out how to do all this housekeeping --- like changing pictures, moving categories, moving blogs.......

I know what you mean, DCap - it took me a lot of studying of the Blogger Help section to even figure out how to do a link in my posts! It takes a lot of time to experiment and read blogger tips, etc. to figure anything out! And I don't have that kind of time!

Looks good, Maui. And I'm flattered that you don't think I'm over 50. ;-)

Your procrastination works for me.

I like that idea... putting us in different categories. Looks great!

P.S.

I was very disappointed in Mirth, as well. I guess I should delete her blog from my blog roll now.

Now that you have said this I must deal with my own procrastination about updating my blog!

Reminds me: I’ve been meaning to make sidebar changes for several weeks now.

Glad you all liked the changes and that it provided inspiration to update!

Yeah.. I'm guilty of that... deleted my blog without telling anybody... ;-)

But people can reach me though...

;-)

Nancy - at least you can be reached so people don't wonder if something happened to you! ;-)
