No shopping obsession is real freedom, too. Just some small family stuff & events that don't drive us nuts. One thing, though, my hub loves all the xmas songs. Very funny, he messes up the words but he just loves the music!

I'm feeling very scroogy this year myself, so A Christmas Carol would be good for me to watch. The last few years, we've rewatched BAD SANTA! I know, we are strange.D.K. A nice dinner, not too fancy, and services on Christmas eve. I'm trying to remain focused on Advent and keep it off the commericialization as much as possible. Good luck with your plans. And don't stress it, just ignore what can't be done!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34240686.post-78024009593739188072008-12-15T15:35:00.000-05:002008-12-15T15:35:00.000-05:00I'm afraid to say, the magic for me is when it's a...I'm afraid to say, the magic for me is when it's all over. I've been feeling alittle melencholy also.I'd have to give "it's a wonderful life" as a favorite christmas movie. We taped it when it was first on TV (I think it was a made-for-TV movie) and it was sponsored by IBM. It was so funny - for a long time we used to still watch that one and see the really old IBM commercials for the PS-2 PC! (This was circa 1988). More recently, though, I bought a DVD of it and now we watch that.

Spartacus, you and me both. I am not a shopper and I'm a lazy wrapper. I use those gift bags!

Snave, the guy on the left doesn't act like Jesus at all - he's the Ghost of Christmas Present and he's a very hearty soul - but he teaches Scrooge some good lessons.Mauigirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15529827915262851910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34240686.post-6663626257090723332008-12-15T14:12:00.000-05:002008-12-15T14:12:00.000-05:00Nice Haiku, Maui! While I have a hard time getting ...Nice Haiku, Maui!

While I have a hard time getting into the modern American Christmas thing, a cinematic trip back to the times of Dickens can do the trick. I must confess I haven't seen that version of the story! George C. Scott was a great actor though, IMHO. I'll have to check it out! (Even if the guy on the left in the picture looks kind of like Hollywood Jesus.)Snavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13763424943041003098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34240686.post-50918811499728522982008-12-15T12:39:00.000-05:002008-12-15T12:39:00.000-05:00Skippy's right MG. That's because I hate shopping for anything and I can't wrap a present to save my life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34240686.post-64386883042912860672008-12-15T12:20:00.000-05:002008-12-15T12:20:00.000-05:00OMG, mauigirl - that is our favorite too.
